At Pinetina, the league leader has resumed training after two days of rest: Acerbi, Barella, Calhanoglu, and Dimarco are heading towards a starting position.
After a long and rejuvenating rest period of over 48 hours, Inter now has a singular goal in mind: Juventus. On Sunday at 8:45 PM, the crucial clash for the Serie A summit will take place at the Giuseppe Meazza.
THE SCHEDULE
After today’s session, Inter has three more training sessions to prepare for the challenge against Juventus. On Thursday and Friday, the group will train late morning at Appiano Gentile, while the eve session on Saturday is scheduled for the afternoon. The final touches will be done directly at San Siro, as the new pitch made its debut last Saturday during the Milan-Bologna match and the team will like to test it first.
THE LINEUP
Few doubts exist; against Juventus, Inzaghi will field the regular starters. This means at least four changes in the starting lineup compared to Fiorentina. Francesco Acerbi is favored in the center of defense over Stefan De Vrij, while in midfield, Nicolรฒ Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu will return to the starting lineup after serving suspensions at Artemio Franchi. On the left, Federico Dimarco will reclaim his position after being rested in Florence, pushing Carlos Augusto to the bench.
The rest of the lineup is nearly ‘expected’: Yann Sommer in goal, Benjamin Pavard and Alessandro Bastoni as center-backs, Henrikh Mkhitaryan as the left midfielder, and the attacking duo of Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram. On the right? Currently, Matteo Darmian seems to be the starter, having played from the first minute in the last four seasonal matches, with Denzel Dumfries appearing only once, for 30 minutes as a substitute.
