With the conclusion of the Italian Supercoppa and Inter’s victory, details on the financial compensations for the four participating teams have surfaced. The competition, held in Saudi Arabia, marked the first time four teams were involved, introducing a new format that expanded beyond just the Serie A and Coppa Italia winners.
SUPERCOPPA, HOW MUCH DO THE TEAMS ACTUALLY MAKE?
The sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia guaranteed a total payment of €16.2 million. The defeated semifinalists, Fiorentina and Lazio, will each receive €1.6 million. Napoli, as the runner-up, will collect €5 millio. Inter, as the competition’s winner, will be awarded €8 million. However, this figure significantly differs from the Supercoppa in Spain, where participating teams share a total prize pool of a substantial €40 million.
