The Inter coach after the 3-0 against Lazio in the Supercoppa semifinal: “We should have completely finished them in the first half.”
After thrashing Lazio 3-0 in a convincing fashion, dominating for 90 minutes and securing a spot in the Italian Supercup final, Simone Inzaghi was pleased and already looked ahead to the final. “The lads were very good today; we delivered an extraordinary performance,” explained the Inter coach to Mediaset microphones.
“We approached the match well from the start, we had a great game, and reached the final we aimed for. Now, we need to recharge our energy because the final against Napoli will be challenging. In the next two and a half days, we’ll prepare for the game in the best possible way.
When asked about Inter’s beautiful game: Although I am the coach, I really enjoye watching this Inter.”
“In the first half, the 1-0 score was narrow, but in the end, we won 3-0 and even hit the crossbar twice,” continued Inzaghi as he analyzed the match with Lazio. “It’s never easy to play against Lazio, but we were clever in making the right plays at the right moment. We had an excellent performance, but when I review it, there will surely be things to improve,” he added.
He then made a few comments on Dimarco’s outstanding performance, praising the entire Inter team. “Federico was excellent tonight, but when you play against an opponent like Lazio, it’s limiting to mention just one name,” explained the coach. “Even those who came in did very well. We defended the 2-0 lead and then closed the match in the end. Now, let’s go and take that trophy on Monday against Napoli.”
