Inzaghi’s words after the 1-1 draw away against Juventus: “It’s not easy to find spaces against a team that defends so deep.”
Inter emerged unbeaten at Allianz in Turin in a delicate away match against Juventus, confirming their position at the top of the Serie A standings with a 1-1 draw. Simone Inzaghi commented after the game:
“Considering how this game unfolded, we’ll take this draw against a team that is excellent at defending. We stayed focused and did well to equalize the score after conceding, even though we could have prevented their goal. In the second half, we didn’t create much, but given how everything went, we’ll take this point, which I wouldn’t have signed for beforehand.”
It seems like Inter settled for the draw? “The team did what it had to do. Last year, in a similar game, we ended up losing. It’s not easy to play against this Juventus, which defends very well, but we came in Turin to win and we were superior to them again.”
Juventus remains in second place, can they compete for the Scudetto? “They, like Milan and Napoli, are built to stay at the top of the standings, as the numbers show right now, is us ahead, and then the other teams are ready to challenge.”
Despite the few chances, Inter managed to hold the possession, but without finding their usual breakthroughs: “We expected this kind of Juventus, waiting to counterattack. We knew we would face difficulties building our game with Barella and Mkhitaryan. I tried to change something in the middle of the field, but with such tight spaces, it’s difficult to find the right passes.”
Inter showed maturity in Turin: “For us, it’s a complicated week. We have difficult matches ahead. We are missing important players, and others are not well. We are in an emergency, and it’s not easy with so many games. I have always made rotations, and I will continue to do so, but I will have to make evaluations even though we will have to work more.”
