The Lazio coach after the defeat to Salernitana: โI am concerned about the mentality of a team that is struggling to find itself.โ
Maurizio Sarri doesnโt hide his concerns after his Lazioโs heavy defeat against Salernitana: โItโs pointless to justify ourselves about the players we are missing or blaming refereeing errors because Gyomber deserved to be sent off. In the end, if we analyze the match, we did too little and this is the outcome โ the words of the Lazio coach on Dazn. Compared to last year, weโve lost some qualities. Everyone must take their own responsibilities, especially me. If the players donโt perform like last season, itโs my fault.โ
Sarri then explained that heโs focusing on the Champions League (Celtic comes to the Olimpico on Tuesday) to try and restart: โWe need to improve. If we enter the field, with this mentallity we wonโt get far. I hope the Champions League is a different story. I am concerned about the mentality of a team that canโt find itself, but the Champions League can work miracles.โ
Finally, a comment on Immobileโs moment and Zaccagniโs injury: โCiroโs goal can please us because it gives him fuel to perform well, but if the team plays like this, as I said we wonโt get too farโฆ We reached creating chances too rarely. Zaccagni? Itโs not a muscular problem but an articulation issue at the hip; it will need to be evaluated.โ
