Sarri hits at Mourinho: “They will play a friendly match on Thursday. We won against Feyenoord.”

“Maurizio Sarri, visibly happy after the win against Feyenoord, took his time to hit on Jose Mourinho ahead of the ‘Derby della Capitale’ this Sunday:”

Sarri addresses the Sky microphones after the win against Feyenoord, which brings the Laziale team one step closer to the qualification in the next round:

“We played a match in which we stayed competitive, even when we suffered. They have excellent ball control and are a goal-scoring machine, but tonight, they couldn’t find the back of the net. We hope not to pay a high price on Sunday as we finished the game with a few players injuried.

How are Zaccagni and Luis Alberto ahead of the derby? We can’t say for sure at the moment, but there is some concern definitely.”

Sarri responds to Mourinho

Sarri addressed Mourinho’s comments in a press conference regarding the fact that Lazio will have two days more rest than Roma ahead of the Sunday derby. He said:

“Roma can afford to play a friendly on Thursday, but we had a battle tonight, we won against the dutch champion. If you ask me whether it’s wise to schedule the derby in the same week when both teams play in Europe, I would say it’s not the smartest decision.

It seems like people who don’t understand football and the significance of the derby make these schedules. They have a league position that allows them to rest their entire squad.”
