Allegri the most underrated ever, Inter the strongest: 10 things we learned about Serie A after week 9

Week 9 is gone, with Inter taking the top of the table, Milan is now sent second. With the win against the ‘Rossonerri’ Juventus are now just 2 points away from the top

1. Kvaratskhelia seems like he’s back at his best

After a very difficult start of the season, and just when everyone started saying that his last season was a fluke, and even marked as ‘one season wonder’, the ‘Georgian Maestro‘ is starting to deliver again. In his last 5 performances with Napoli, he has scored 3 and assisted 3. Rudi Garcia’s job is safe when he has a Kvaraskhelia like this.

2. Inter is the strongest team in Italy.

Inter is continuing their great start of the season. After the international break they thrashed Torino away with a comfortable result (3-0). Inter has the best scoring record in the league (24) and the best defence with the fewest goals conceded (5). Just to put it into a perspective AC Milan second in the table has scored 16 and concede 9, but stay 1 point below. It will be tough for every Italian team against Inter, but they are known to lose trophies even when they are the best team in the league.

3. Lautaro and Thuram are just great together

Although Thuram was not brought to replace Lukaku, he is truning out to be just that. He has filled ‘Big Rom’s shoes perfectly and his partnership with Lautaro is the best in the league at the moment. The frenchman has scored 3 and assisted 5 so far. Lautaro on the other hand has 11 goals and 2 assist. Combined they make for 14 goals and 7 assists in the Serie A. They are on fire

4. Lazio are back

After a horrendous beginning of the Season with just one win in their first 6 games of the season, Sarri’s team is returning to their best. The club went to a mini shock with the many summer changes and especially losing the most important player of the team for many seasons in Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. In the last 5 games, Sarri’s men have won 4 losing only to AC Milan in the process. Let’s see how they continue

5. Jose Mourinho is stil the king of Sarcasm

After beating 10 men Monza at home in the last minute, Jose Mourinho went crazy at the sidelines adding on to his antics. He first silenced the Monza bench saying to them, Bla, Bla, Bla I can’t hear you now, even going as far as saying: I didn’t do anything wrong just silenced their mouths. As if this wasn’t enough, Mou didn’t stop here and replied to Monza’s Papu Gomez for saying that all he knows about Mourinho is the Europa League title win with Sevilla:”I have a cough nowdays, but I won’t take any syrup or pills. Otherwise I may have problems with passing the anti-doping testsโ€ฆ”

6. Matรญas Soulรฉ is one of the biggest Italian talents at the moment

Juventus has a gem in their hands. Matรญas Soulรฉ‘s loan move to Frosinone is turning out to be a great move. He has scored 3 so far and assisted 1, but he is creating chances and is one of the most important figures in Frosinone’s good start of the season. To show his leadership capabilities, he asked to take the penalty in their last match against Bologna, and the under-pressure talent delievered with no problem. Keep an eye on him.

7. Filippo Inzaghi will have a tough time saving Salernitana

In his first match as the new Salernitana coach, Filippo Inzaghi faced the rock bottom Cagliari at home. But this didn’t help as Salernitana is stil searching for the first win of the season. Boulaye Dia‘s brace is a good indication that something good has been done during the week, but that wasn’t enough as Salernitana saved a point only in the last minute of the game. It will be tough for Fillippo.

8. Atalanta once again will play for European spots

Since taking over, Gasperini has only produced magic with this team, and this season is no different. After the comfortable home win against his old ex team Genoa, Gasperini’s men are staying in the 6th position with 16 points, only 4 points away from Juventus sitting 3rd. One thing is for sure, as long as Gasperini is here, they are going to fight for the top of the table.

9. Allegri is the most underrated coach in the history of the Serie A

Ever since his return to Juventus he has only been criticized. He came back after Pirlo‘s colapse and Ronaldo‘s ‘adio’. In his first year with the team, he finished 4th after many problems the team faced outside the pitch (with management crisis as the team was accused of falsely reporting documents). Last season the problems continued and the team was penalized in the middle of the season, while the club’s leadership changed. They stil managed to win 72 points (and a champions league spot) but 10 points were later reduced. The team was performing constantly under pressure. This season with 0 investments Allegri is doing a decend job and his team is now 3rd in the table with only 2 points away from the league leaders Inter. Allegri deserves more respect

10. Fiorentina can be a dark horse in the race for the Champions League

If Italiano’s men win tonight against Empoli, they will have the same points an maybe an even better goal difference than Juventus. Fiorentina is having a great start of the season and after beating Napoli away a win against Empoli at home is very probable. With 2 points away from the top, Fiorentina would be the dark horse in the race to get a Champions League spot
