Kai Trump has shared an encouraging update on her mother Vanessa Trump’s breast cancer battle, revealing that the mom of five is feeling better as she continues treatment.
The 19-year-old spoke about her mother’s health during an appearance on Fox & Friends, offering a glimpse into how Vanessa has been coping following surgery and as she moves through the next stage of her treatment.

“She’s doing better, feeling better. A little tired. She’s a fighter,” Kai said, while acknowledging the physical toll that treatment has taken on her mother.
The update came shortly after Kai also spoke about Vanessa while attending the 2026 ESPY Awards at Lincoln Center in New York, where she walked the red carpet in a sparkling gold gown.
Kai says her mother is ‘a fighter’
During her Fox & Friends appearance, Kai was asked directly about how her mother was doing following her breast cancer diagnosis.
“Obviously, radiation takes a toll on your body,” Kai said. “But she’s doing better, feeling better. A little tired. She’s a fighter.”
Kai expressed confidence in her mother’s ability to face the challenges ahead.

“If anyone can go through it, she can definitely,” she added. “She’s a fighter. She’ll be fine.”
Her comments followed another brief but positive update at the ESPY Awards. Speaking on the red carpet, Kai said simply, “My mom’s doing good. She’s doing better.”
Vanessa, 48, first publicly announced her breast cancer diagnosis in May, telling her followers that she was working closely with her medical team to determine a treatment plan.
“While this isn’t the news anyone expects, I’m working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan,” she said at the time.
Vanessa added that she was remaining focused and hopeful while surrounded by support from her family, children and those closest to her.

Last month, Vanessa provided another update after undergoing surgery, revealing that she had spent several weeks recovering and was preparing for the next phase of her treatment.
“Over the past four weeks, I’ve been recovering from surgery, and I’m grateful to be healing and moving forward,” she said. “Soon, I’ll be starting the second stage of my treatment.”
She also sent a message of encouragement to others facing similar health battles, offering “love, strength, and hope” to those going through cancer treatment.
Throughout her health battle, Vanessa has remained surrounded by support, including from her five children and boyfriend Tiger Woods.

A source cited by People said Woods had been “amazing” following Vanessa’s diagnosis and had given her significant support. Another source said the couple remained optimistic about her treatment while acknowledging the anxiety that can accompany a cancer diagnosis.
Vanessa and Woods publicly confirmed their relationship in March 2025 following months of speculation.
Kai prepares for her own major milestone
While supporting her mother, Kai is also preparing for a significant new chapter in her own life as she gets ready to begin her college golf career at the University of Miami.
The young golfer has spoken about receiving advice from both Woods and her grandfather, President Donald Trump.
According to Kai, Woods has encouraged her to “be yourself” and “trust the process,” while her grandfather has advised her to enjoy every moment despite the inevitable challenges along the way.
For now, however, Kai’s latest words about her mother offered the most encouraging update: Vanessa is continuing her treatment, feeling better and, in her daughter’s words, remains “a fighter.”
