Real tragedy: Newly engaged biker killed in tragic crash just hours after proposal

Engagement joy turns to tragedy in California motorcycle crash

A day that began with celebration ended in devastating loss for a young California couple, after a newly engaged man was killed in a motorcycle crash just hours after proposing.

According to reports from KCRA and statements shared with the Daily Mail, 25-year-old Noah Jacobus had just asked Molly Wiseman to marry him earlier that same day. The couple was on their way to dinner to share the news of their engagement when the crash occurred.

Noah Jacobus, 25, proposed to his girlfriend, Molly Wiseman—just hours before he was killed in a motorcycle crash in California.

Wiseman told KCRA the moment was supposed to mark the start of a new chapter. Instead, it became one of unimaginable grief.

“He deserved so much better,” she said.

A relationship cut short within hours

The couple’s relationship had developed quickly after meeting at a bike meet-up in Sacramento earlier this year. Wiseman told KCRA that from the moment they met in January, they spent nearly all their time together.

“We were going to announce our engagement,” Wiseman said, describing the plans they had for that evening.

As they rode along Oak Avenue in Orangevale, Jacobus was traveling alongside Wiseman when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed. She described witnessing the incident as “horrifying” in her interview with KCRA.

American flags and flowers have since been placed at the site, marking the location where the crash occurred.

Career milestone and future plans lost

Beyond his personal life, Jacobus had recently reached an important professional milestone. According to Wiseman, he had been offered a permanent position with the National Guard after months of effort.

“He was so excited about that… It’s just not fair,” she said through tears, recalling how much the opportunity meant to him.

His background included serving as a fire support specialist, a role he had previously held in the Army from June 2019 to December 2022, according to his LinkedIn profile.

The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the crash. Authorities are examining whether another vehicle may have been involved, though officials declined to provide further details to the Daily Mail, citing conflicting witness accounts and the ongoing nature of the case.

Friends and family have described Jacobus as a kind and well-loved individual. Wiseman, in a message shared on Instagram, called him the “love of my life” and said he would never be forgotten.

“It was cut too short… we just didn’t get enough time,” she said in her interview with KCRA.

What was meant to be a moment of public celebration has instead become a private and lasting loss, as Wiseman mourns the future they had only just begun to plan.
