After photographers captured a surprising moment, rumors began to spread that Nicole Kidman had moved on following her split from Keith Urban.
After months of speculation that they might be in a relationship, Nicole Kidman and actor Simon Baker appeared to show that there may indeed be something more than just a professional connection between them.
At the New York premiere of their new series “Scarpetta,” the actors were seen holding hands and appeared in great spirits alongside co-stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Ariana DeBose, and Bobby Cannavale.
The Oscar-winning actress looked as elegant as ever, this time wearing a black Chanel outfit made up of a blazer and a semi-sheer maxi skirt, while Baker wore a beige suit with a black shirt.
Nicole begged to work with Simon
“We’ve known each other for a large part of our lives, so I’ve always wanted to work on something meaningful with Simon,” Nicole said recently. She is also a close friend of his ex-wife, Rebecca Rigg, and admitted that she had “begged” him to collaborate.
“I kept telling him, ‘Will you please, please do this with me?’ And he was at a point where he could be away from home and take on projects he enjoyed. And he said yes!”
Nicole Kidman and Simon Baker have worked together before, playing a married couple in the series Roar (2022), and he said they had a great time.
“It didn’t feel strange to me. We had kissed on the cheek before and hugged a lot. We even lived in the same house,” Nicole said. “You know, the woman I grew up with was married to him for 29 years, so we’re basically like family.”

According to media reports, country singer Keith Urban, Nicole Kidman’s ex-husband, is “devastated by the romance rumors” and by the idea that she may have moved on so quickly after their divorce.
“Seeing Nicole and Simon holding hands felt to him like seeing his best friend with his partner, and it really hurt him,” an unnamed source told Woman’s Day. “He knew it was natural for Simon to be there for her—he was also there for Naomi Watts after her split from Liev Schreiber.”
The source added that Urban hopes Nicole and Simon were just playing things up for the cameras, because it would be very hard for him if they were actually in a relationship.
“Keith hopes they’re just doing it for the headlines. But even that feels like a betrayal to him, because both Nicole and Simon know that even the hint of a relationship would hurt him,” the anonymous source said. “He already suspected they had grown close during filming. This is becoming his worst nightmare.”
