Bettina Anderson, a Palm Beach socialite and model, has recently stepped further into the public spotlight following her engagement to Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of President Donald Trump.
While her relationship with the businessman and political figure has attracted attention, Anderson has long been a recognizable name in Palm Beach social circles due to her philanthropic background, charitable work, and connections within the community.
President Donald Trump confirmed on Dec. 15 that his eldest son is engaged to Anderson, marking a new chapter for the couple after their relationship became public in 2024.
A Palm Beach upbringing rooted in philanthropy
Anderson was born in December 1986 to entrepreneur Harry Loy Anderson Jr. and philanthropist Inger Anderson. Raised in Palm Beach, Florida, she continues to live in the community where her family has been active in charitable and civic organizations.
Her father built a notable career in finance, becoming the youngest bank president in the United States when he began leading Worth Avenue National Bank at the age of 26. According to his obituary in the Palm Beach Daily News, he also served on the board of the Historical Society of Palm Beach County and was a member of the national board of governors for the American Red Cross.
Her mother’s influence also played an important role in shaping Anderson’s outlook. In an interview with Fashion Week Daily in March 2022, Anderson said, “My mom has always been an inspiration to me.”
Anderson is one of six children in the family. She grew up alongside her siblings — sisters Mea Stone, Bebe McCranels and Kristina McPherson, and brothers Harry Loy III and Kent.
Education, modeling and environmental work
After growing up in Palm Beach, Anderson attended Columbia University, graduating in 2009 with a degree in art history, criticism and conservation, according to her LinkedIn profile.
She later developed a presence in fashion and social circles, frequently sharing modeling images on social media. Her work has included appearing on the cover of Quest magazine in 2020 and participating in a photo shoot with Hamilton Jewelers that same year. In 2021, Palm Beach Illustrated described her as a “local influencer” in a feature highlighting figures within the Palm Beach community.
Philanthropy has remained a central part of her life. Together with her brothers, Anderson helped establish The Paradise Fund, a nonprofit organization focused on supporting disaster relief efforts and helping local charities.
In 2021, she expanded those efforts by launching the Project Paradise Film Fund, an initiative designed to support storytelling centered on Florida’s wildlife and natural environment, with proceeds benefiting conservation work.
Anderson later became executive director of the nonprofit, which is now known as Paradise.ngo. Speaking about her motivation, she told Fashion Week Daily that “one of the greatest focuses of my life is how I can be of service to others and be a steward of the environment.”
Relationship with Donald Trump Jr.
Anderson and Donald Trump Jr. were first publicly linked in 2024. Photographs published by the Daily Mail showed the pair together during a brunch outing in Palm Beach in August of that year.
Their relationship continued to attract attention when they were seen together again later in 2024, including during Anderson’s birthday celebration at the Palm Beach restaurant Buccan. The couple was also photographed walking along the beach and holding hands.
Sources told PEOPLE that the pair had been dating for several months at that time, while additional sightings placed them together at events connected to the Trump family.
The couple has since appeared together at multiple public gatherings, including sporting events and family trips, and Anderson has been photographed with several members of the Trump family.
Their relationship reached a new milestone in December 2025. During remarks at the White House on Dec. 15, President Donald Trump announced that his eldest son had become engaged to Anderson.
During the moment captured in video posted by Laura Loomer on X, Donald Trump Jr. joked about the proposal, thanking Anderson for the single word that changed everything.
“I want to thank Bettina for that one word: ‘Yes,’ ” he said.
Anderson described the occasion as “the most unforgettable weekend.”
