The relationship between pop star Katy Perry and former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau has been moving quickly since the pair were first linked in 2025. Now, speculation about whether the couple might expand their families has become a topic of intense discussion online.
The two were first seen together during a dinner outing in Canada in July 2025, according to TMZ. In the months that followed, the relationship appeared to grow more public. The pair reportedly celebrated Trudeau’s birthday together in October, and by December the singer had acknowledged the relationship on her Instagram account.
Both Perry and Trudeau entered the romance with children from previous relationships. Perry shares a daughter with actor Orlando Bloom, while Trudeau has three children with his estranged wife, Sophie Grégoire.
Pregnancy rumors spread online
The conversation intensified in early 2026 when rumors circulated on social media suggesting Perry was expecting a child with Trudeau.
According to The Daily Mail, speculation gained traction in February after the singer was photographed wearing a long-sleeve cover-up dress while out with Trudeau in California and appeared to shield her stomach.
However, a source speaking to the outlet dismissed the claims.
“There have been rumors recently that Katy is pregnant, but she is not,” the source told The Daily Mail.
The insider added that the couple is currently enjoying their relationship while balancing the families they already have.
“She’s not against it, but they are just in a euphoric honeymoon phase and enjoying life together with the children they already have from their previous relationships,” the source said.
Another factor cited by the source involves Perry’s professional commitments. The singer is preparing for an upcoming tour, and the insider suggested that avoiding additional stress during that period is also part of the reason pregnancy is not currently on the table.
Claims about future plans emerge
While the pregnancy rumors have been denied, separate reports have suggested that Perry may still be open to the idea of having another child.
According to the National Enquirer, a source claimed the singer has discussed the possibility of starting a family with Trudeau in the future. The outlet reported that Perry had previously hoped to have more children during her relationship with Bloom, which ended after more than a decade.
Perry and Bloom share a daughter, Daisy Dove, who is five years old. Bloom also has a son, Flynn, 15, from his previous marriage to Miranda Kerr. Trudeau, meanwhile, shares three children between the ages of 11 and 18 with Grégoire.
Despite the speculation surrounding their future plans, Perry has not publicly addressed the pregnancy rumors involving Trudeau.
The singer did previously comment on the topic of expanding her family in 2022 while speaking with E! News during her Las Vegas residency. At the time, she explained why pregnancy was not possible while performing the demanding show.
“I’m in Vegas, and I can’t do that show with anything in my belly, especially a human,” Perry said.
