The disappearance of Nancy Guthrie has now entered its fourth week, with investigators continuing efforts to determine what happened to the 84-year-old in Tucson, Arizona.
On the 22nd day of the search, deputies from the Pima County Sheriff’s Office were seen outside the home next door to Guthrie’s residence. Footage captured by KVOA News showed three deputies walking around the front of the neighboring property. Authorities have not publicly clarified what prompted the visit or what investigators were seeking at that location.

Nancy Guthrie, the mother of TODAY show host Savannah Guthrie, was suspected of being taken from her bedroom on the night of January 31. Officials have not released further details about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
Desert discovery examined by investigators
Additional attention has focused on items discovered earlier this month in the Catalina Foothills area. According to KVOA, a couple walking on February 11 reported finding two black gloves that appeared to be stained with blood, along with a nearby rock that seemed to have a blood mark. The area was roughly one mile from Guthrie’s home, near Campbell Avenue.
The individuals, who chose to remain anonymous, described one glove as being about 10 feet away from a rock, with a second glove resting on top of it. After looking more closely, they told KVOA, “sure enough, it was a black glove in the desert. It appeared to have looked like it was ripped. It also appeared to look like it had blood on it.”
They added that the glove showed two different shades of discoloration and that the pointer finger appeared torn. The husband said what looked like a dried drop of blood could be seen on the rock beneath one glove.

The couple stated they did not touch the items and instead contacted authorities immediately. Deputies questioned them before allowing them to leave, while investigators remained at the scene until around 2 a.m., according to KVOA News.
In a statement to the outlet, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said, “We cannot confirm at this time. Detectives and agents have collected multiple gloves from the area and analysis is part of the investigation.”
Investigation remains ongoing
Authorities have not confirmed whether the items are connected to Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance. As the search moves deeper into its fourth week, officials continue investigative work without announcing a breakthrough.
