The best grandma: Marla Maples tells two-word nickname her grandson Alexander calls her

Marla Maples is embracing a new chapter in her life — and she is doing so with visible gratitude and affection.

In a recent piece published by The Spectator, the 62-year-old reflected on her daily routine and the joy she finds in family life. Central to that joy is her eight-month-old grandson, Alexander Trump Boulos, the son of Tiffany Trump and Michael Boulos.

Marla Maples shares the sweet nickname she cherishes as a grandmother

Maples revealed that she now proudly carries the nickname “Grand Mar,” a name that has quickly become part of her identity as a first-time grandmother.

Alexander was born on May 15, 2025, marking a milestone not only for Tiffany and Michael, but also for Maples, who has openly shared her enthusiasm about stepping into this role. The infant is the 11th grandchild of Donald Trump and the very first for Maples.

Writing about her routine, Maples said she “can’t help but text [her] daughter, Tiffany, and FaceTime my grandson, Alexander.” She described the baby as “a source of pure joy,” adding that despite busy schedules, their family makes time to stay connected.

“Now, as a new ‘Grand Mar,’ I treasure every moment with my family,” she wrote, underscoring how deeply the experience has affected her.

Her reflections extended beyond grandmotherhood. Maples described motherhood as her “greatest teacher,” calling it “an ongoing practice in love and surrender.” She also shared that her favorite days revolve around “soaking in the baby snuggles,” a phrase that captured the warmth she associates with this season of life.

Faith, gratitude and a message of balance

As evening approaches, Maples said she pauses in gratitude wherever she may be. She honors the Sabbath weekly as what she called a “sacred pause,” a time to unplug, light candles, and refocus on what matters most.

Her message, as expressed in the publication, centers on balance and well-being. She wrote that physical, emotional, and spiritual health are intertwined and suggested that nurturing that connection can allow positive energy to radiate outward.

The family first announced Alexander’s birth on May 15, 2025, with Tiffany sharing a heartfelt message welcoming her son into the world. Maples responded publicly at the time, writing, “No greater joy in the world,” and signing off with affection as “Gran Mar Mar.”

For Maples, the transition into grandmotherhood appears not simply as a new title, but as a defining moment — one she has chosen to celebrate openly and with gratitude.
