In an interview with “ASette,” the weekly magazine of Corriere della Sera, Gerry Cardinale, the owner of AC Milan, provides clarity on the acquisition of Milan, the new organizational structure, and the objectives on the field.
“Some believed that I didn’t want to spend on Milan, but I have Invested 1.2 billion up till now. This is a long-term project: This is the first season in which I am involved in the transfer market and I am here to win, and win not just once, but many times over and over again.”
“I want to be the new Berlusconi, I want to have the same impact for Milan. Now, having reached the highest revenue in Milan’s history and a budget that will close in plus (in profit) for the first time since 2006, we are entering a new phase: we want to be number one, but we can’t do it without changes.”
“I have always believed that Milan is one of the top 4-5 clubs in Europe. We are here thanks to what our predecessors did, Silvio Berlusconi, Gianni Rivera, Sacchi, Baresi, Maldini. But we haven’t done anything yet, the season is long but we want to achieve big things.”
