A new Italy under Spalletti… Here’s how the new ‘Azzurri’ team will look in the upcoming matches

The beginning of the Azzurri adventure under the new national team coach is very close: here are the possible lineup choices for the matches against North Macedonia and Ukraine.

Off to the qualifications, and once again, the obligation to win: Luciano Spalletti‘s Italy is gearing up for its debut away match against North Macedonia (September 9, 8:45 PM) and immediately afterward, at home against Ukraine (September 12, 8:45 PM).

The lineup envisioned by the new head coach will follow his tactical philosophy, in the footsteps of what Roberto Mancini left behind: it will be a 4-3-3 formation to chase the second spot in Group C and secure qualification for the upcoming European Championship in Germany.

The Serie A champion coach experimented with a front three featuring Politano and Chiesa as wide attackers and Immobile as the center-forward.

The midfield trio should be composed with Barella, Tonali, and Locatelli, while in the defence Di Lorenzo, Bastoni, Casale and Di Marco are expected to start.

The team flies out to North Macedonia on Friday, then after Saturdayโ€™s game will return to Italy and stay at Milanello training camp until Tuesdayโ€™s match against Ukraine at San Siro.
