Justin Baldoni’s legal team claims Blake Lively threatened Taylor Swift

The legal feud between ‘It Ends With Us’ co-stars Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively has taken another dramatic turn.

On May 14, Baldoniโ€™s legal team filed new court documents alleging that Lively attempted to pressure her longtime friend Taylor Swift into publicly supporting her amid the ongoing legal dispute โ€” and allegedly used threats to do so.

According to the filing, Lively’s team is accused of contacting Swift’s legal representatives and demanding that Swift issue a public statement backing Lively. Baldoni’s lawyers claim the threat included an implication that if Swift didnโ€™t comply, private text messages of a personal nature might be released.

โ€œWe received a tip from an anonymous source highly likely to have reliable information,โ€ said attorney Bryan Freedman, who also alleged that Lively asked Swift to delete specific messages.

Lively’s Legal Team Responds: “Categorically False”

Blake Livelyโ€™s attorney Mike Gottlieb fired back, calling the claims โ€œcategorically falseโ€ in a statement to Fox News Digital.

โ€œWe unequivocally deny all of these so-called allegations, which are cowardly sourced to supposed anonymous sources and completely untethered from reality,” Gottlieb said.
“We will imminently file motions with the court to hold these attorneys accountable for their misconduct here.โ€

Livelyโ€™s legal team also filed a motion to strike the accusations from the court docket, labeling them โ€œbaseless, unnecessary, improper and abusive.โ€

Taylor Swift Subpoenaed โ€” But Denies Involvement

Taylor Swift was subpoenaed on May 9 as a witness in the high-profile legal dispute. Her spokesperson responded quickly, clarifying that Swift had no creative involvement with the 2024 film It Ends With Us, aside from licensing the use of her song My Tears Ricochet.

โ€œTaylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie. She was not involved in casting, editing, scoring, or production decisions,โ€ the spokesperson told Fox News Digital.
โ€œThis subpoena is a publicity stunt โ€” designed to drag Swiftโ€™s name into a case where she has no real involvement.โ€

Swiftโ€™s team also confirmed that she didnโ€™t view the film until weeks after its release due to her Eras Tour schedule.

A Breakdown of the Lively-Baldoni Legal War

Baldoni and Lively co-starred in It Ends With Us, based on the bestselling novel by Colleen Hoover. The film, which premiered in August 2024, has been plagued by rumors of creative disputes and behind-the-scenes tension.

In December 2024, Lively filed a lawsuit accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment during the filmโ€™s production. In response, Baldoni filed a $400 million countersuit in January 2025, accusing Lively โ€” and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds โ€” of civil extortion and defamation.

His complaint further alleged that Swift and Reynolds used their star power to pressure him into accepting script changes โ€” particularly a controversial rooftop scene that Lively wanted to rewrite. Baldoni later texted Lively, complimenting the changes and joking about being โ€œpressuredโ€ by her โ€œmegacelebrity friend,โ€ referencing Swift.

โ€œYou really are a talent across the board. Really excited and grateful to do this together,โ€ Baldoni texted, according to court documents.

Lively responded by calling Swift and Reynolds her “dragons” โ€” protectors in her corner.

With both parties refusing to settle, the Lively vs. Baldoni trial is scheduled to begin in March 2026 in New York. As the legal drama continues to unfold, more celebrities may find themselves drawn into the conflict โ€” and the public eye remains fixed on how this A-list courtroom clash will play out.
