There are only a few of the numbers previously worn by the Belgian striker that are available in yellow and red, but there is a special one: all the details.
Jose Mourinho was in search of another number 9, and the Friedkin family has truly thrilled the fans by making a big addition available to Roma in the form of Romelu Lukaku. However, Lukaku can’t wear his usual number in yellow and red, as it’s already ‘owned’ by the injured Tammy Abraham.
Lukaku, past jersey numbers:
‘Big Rom’ wore number 36 and 14 during his time at Anderlecht, number 18 and 9 at Chelsea, number 20 at West Bromwich, number 17 and 10 at Everton, returned to number 9 at Manchester United, and concluded the last season with Inter wearing the number 90.
Apart from 9, 18, 20, and 17, the other numbers are available at Roma, including the number 10, which no one has worn since Francesco Totti. The former captain recently ‘offered’ it to Dybala (who, however, stuck with his ‘own’ 21), and who knows, he might do the same for Lukaku now.
Here are the jersey numbers for AS Roma:
1 – Rui Patricio 99 – Svilar 63 – Boer 5 – Ndicka 23 – Mancini 14 – Llorente 6 – Smalling 24 – Kumbulla 37 – Spinazzola 43 – Kristensen 19 – Celik 2 – Karsdorp 4 – Cristante 16 – Paredes 20 – Renato Sanches 22 – Aouar 52 – Bove 60 – Pagano 59 – Zalewski 7 – Pellegrini 92 – El Shaarawy 18 – Solbakken 21 – Dybala 9 – Abraham 17 – Azmoun 11 – Belotti
Can Romelu be Roma’s new 10, let’s wait and see, but 90 can be an option again for the big Belgian.
*Latest report from the ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’ says that Romelu will wear the number 90 at Roma as well.
