Prince William’s visit to South Africa is nearing its end, and his final day by the ocean surprised everyone with a special, unexpected meeting with a famous celebrity.
Everyone fell silent when the prince appeared with this guest for lunch, where he aimed to highlight the importance of sustainable fishing, a core part of his environmental initiative, “Earthshot.”
The guest was supermodel and TV host Heidi Klum, whom Prince William invited to Kalk Bay Harbor to give her insight into the value of sustainable fishing practices.
Joining William and Heidi were actor Billy Porter and model Winnie Harlow, who engaged with local fishers and conservationists in discussions about environmental issues and preserving marine ecosystems.
Prince William arrived at Kalk Bay by a rescue boat, welcomed by an eager crowd of locals gathered around fish stalls to greet the royal visitor.
One attendee, Kate Wardle, gifted him specially made pendants with the initials “W” and “C” and three additional ones for his children. She offered them, saying, “Here, if you’d like to take these.” Prince William thanked her warmly, adding with a smile:
“I never leave empty-handed!” The crowd remarked on how naturally and comfortably William interacted, showing no sign of arrogance.
After the tour and discussions about sustainable fishing, guests enjoyed a traditional South African barbecue known as “braai,” where they tasted fresh, locally prepared fish.
Later, Klum expressed admiration for William’s commitment to environmental preservation:
“I didn’t know much about sustainable fishing before this meeting. It’s an honor to be part of this and to learn how we can protect our waters. I hope everyone can contribute in some way.”
