The all-time leading scorer in NBA history showered his teammate with praise during the recently concluded Olympic Games in Paris.
LeBron James teamed up with Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry to create a “last dance” at the Olympic level, aiming to lead the United States to the title in men’s basketball at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The plan worked perfectly. “The King” secured his third gold medal at the decisive Olympic event, while KD earned his fourth consecutive championship of that caliber. Additionally, these two NBA legends achieved their second Olympic gold together, having previously teamed up in London 2012.
What did LeBron James say?
Despite teaming up for the benefit of Team USA on multiple occasions, there is incredible mutual respect between James and Durant, even though the U.S. media tried for years to create a rivalry between these two NBA stars. This is what James said forgetting about his other ‘team-mate’ Steph Curry
“KD is one of the greatest of all time. Itโs not even a question. I mean, just look at his frame, look at his skills. He’s one of the best basketball players weโve ever seen in this sport,” said the current Los Angeles Lakers captain to The Athletic, referring to the veteran Phoenix Suns shooter.
In fact, although he has almost ruled out returning to represent his country at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, the player who won an NBA championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Lakers, as well as two with the Miami Heat, hopes that the performances of himself, Durant, and Curry will serve to inspire people and other athletes in the future.
“We hope that what we did in the summer of 2024 inspires a lot of peopleโplayers and fans alike.”
