Done Deal!? Lebron James got his way, L.A Lakers to announce their new coach

The former point guard spent 15 years in the NBA and has a great friendship with LeBron James, who might now have him as his new coach.

After weeks of negotiations, the Los Angeles Lakers are ready to announce JJ Redick as their new coach. This is an interesting decision for the California team since Redick has no coaching experience so far, despite his knowledge as a sports analyst in the media.

According to Anthony F. Irwin, a reporter for Lakers Daily, the team will announce the hiring of the 39-year-old strategist in the coming days to officially replace Darvin Ham, who worked as the coach for the past two years and led the team to two consecutive postseasons, where they were defeated by the Denver Nuggets.

Redick currently works as an ESPN commentator and had a 15-year career in the NBA as a notable point guard, playing for several teams. He has a great relationship with LeBron James, and many analysts see this as a key point in the negotiations.

Although Redick lacks coaching experience in the NBA, he interviewed for coaching vacancies with the Toronto Raptors and Charlotte Hornets last season. His intelligence as a player will surely help him in his upcoming coaching career.

The Lakers need to finalize the coaching position and also decide the future of veteran LeBron James, who has the option to continue for another season or become a free agent.
