Olivia Lynes, an 11-year-old with a passion for singing, recently made waves on “Britain’s Got Talent” thanks to her mother’s heartfelt letter to judge Amanda Holden. Olivia’s mom wrote to Amanda, expressing her belief that her daughter had an incredible voice and should be given a chance to shine on the big stage.
Despite her nerves, Olivia bravely took to the stage and announced she would be singing “Defying Gravity” by Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth. Before Olivia even began, her mom was already in tears, overwhelmed with emotion.
As Olivia started to sing, her performance began modestly. However, something unexpected happened mid-song. Her voice soared, captivating the entire audience. The crowd was in awe, and by the middle of the song, everyone was on their feet, unable to believe what they were hearing.
When Olivia finished, the judges and audience erupted into a standing ovation. Two of the judges were visibly crying, moved by her powerful performance. Amanda Holden, without saying a word, hit the golden buzzer, sending Olivia straight to the live shows.
