Zilliacus with an official offer to buy Inter? Hear Zhang and Sunning’s express response

Suning are likely to reject any offer by Finnish billionaire to buy Inter.

According to reports in today’s print edition of Il Giorno, the Finnish billionaire Zilliacus has been dropping bold hints about his intentions to acquire Inter. The billionaire has explicitly stated his plan to make an offer to purchase the club from Suning, and now he says he did just that.

Despite Zilliacus’s apparent seriousness and his public statements, Il Giorno suggests that the current owners would likely reject any offer from the Finnish businessman at this time. While Zilliacus believes he can meet Suning’s valuation, the Nerazzurri owners have not specified a precise price tag for the club, although reports suggest Suning aims for at least €1 to €1.3 billion.

Il Giorno emphasizes that regardless of the offer size, there is no offer that Suning would accept right now. The owners reportedly remain committed to their plan of refinancing their substantial loan from Oaktree Capital.

Even if Suning faces challenges in refinancing the club, they reportedly prefer a minority investment over outright selling Inter. Recent partnerships, such as the one with Qatar Airways, highlight Suning’s corporate ambitions, along with potential revenue sources like the Club World Cup and a new stadium project. Thus, the Chinese company believes they can maintain control over the club’s future, as reported by Il Giorno.
