Who’s leaving Inter this summer? These are the two main suspects to say goodbye at the end of the season

Qualifying for the quarter-finals of the Champions League represents a lifeline for Inter, especially from an economic perspective.

Entry into the top eight in Europe is worth approximately €20 million in cash, which is a significant amount considering that the club had forecasted finishing in third place and qualifying for the Europa League.

This estimated figure, which includes box office revenue, exceeds the lost revenue from the DigitalBits shirt sponsorship, which has yet to pay any of the instalments stipulated by the agreement.

A prize of €10.6 million will be awarded to Inter for advancing to the quarter-finals, in addition to the €6.7 million from the first leg.

Furthermore, there will be bonuses from sponsors, and an increase in the share of the market pool from UEFA, which partly depends on the matches played in the competition.

This influx of liquidity will provide Inter with greater flexibility in the transfer market, albeit with restrictions imposed by the owners for economic sustainability.

Knowing of the transfer market twists and turns, the club would move from a “need” to a “willingness” to sell, altering the balance of power in the negotiations.

The most notable names for potential sales remain Denzel Dumfries and Marcelo Brozovic, but only one of them may be sold in the event of a significant offer.

Inter may pursue several options to increase revenue, including the possible redemption of Romelu Lukaku.

In this scenario, the Nerazzurri could request lower transfer figures than those of the last negotiation, but with more flexibility of up to a million euros more or less.

The club may also sign free agents or hunt for a new defender to replace Milan Skriniar.
