During Tuesday’s live broadcast of “The View,” Whoopi Goldberg took a moment to address an audience member she spotted using a camera, prompting her to interrupt co-host Sunny Hostin’s discussion about former President Trump’s reduced bond payment of $175 million on Monday.
Goldberg stood up and directly addressed the audience member, saying, “Sir, I have to stop you with the camera. Because I can see you. So do me a favor, donโt pull it out again. Iโd appreciate that. Thank you.” Co-host Sara Haines also chimed in with gratitude towards the audience member, while Joy Behar inquired about the situation, asking, “what was he doing?”
After making her point, Goldberg returned to her seat, allowing Hostin to resume her commentary.
This isn’t the first time Goldberg has intervened with the show’s live audience, particularly during interviews featuring Republican guests. She has previously admonished the audience for booing individuals such as Kellyanne Conway, New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu, and Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C.
During Scott’s appearance on “The View” in June 2023, Goldberg made it clear, saying, “This is โThe View.โ We accept โ we donโt have to believe everything people say, but you cannot boo people here, please. You cannot do it. Please continue.”
