Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar criticized for making fun of Elon Musk’s four-year-old son X

Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar faced backlash from viewers after making remarks about Elon Muskโ€™s four-year-old son, X, following his widely shared appearance in the Oval Office.

Musk and his son, whose full name is X ร† A-Xii (pronounced โ€œEx-Ash-A-Twelveโ€), accompanied former President Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday.

During Wednesday morningโ€™s episode of The View, Goldberg referenced the visit, stating, โ€œYesterday, Elon Musk took his son X to a press conference.โ€

Behar quickly interjected, questioning the childโ€™s name and asking, โ€œX?โ€ The exchange sparked criticism, with many viewers calling out the hosts for their comments.

Shaking her head, Whoopi Goldberg responded to the discussion by saying, โ€œI did not name the child, and I donโ€™t want to hear any more mess about our names,โ€ a remark that drew laughter from the panel.

Trying to steer the conversation back on track, she continued, โ€œAnywho, he took little X,โ€ but was once again interrupted by Joy Behar, who quipped, โ€œAnd little Instagram.โ€

Behar appeared to be joking about Muskโ€™s son sharing a name with his social media platform, X, formerly known as Twitter. However, she was quickly corrected, as Musk does not own Instagram, which is part of Meta, the parent company of Facebook.

Interestingly, both Goldberg and Behar use stage namesโ€”Goldberg was born Caryn Elaine Johnson, while Beharโ€™s given first name is Josephine.

Users were quick to criticize The View hosts and defend little X

After a clip of the show was shared online, social media users quickly criticized Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar for their remarks about Elon Muskโ€™s young son.

One person reacted by stating, โ€œIt seems they CAN sink lower. Such trash!โ€ Another user expressed frustration, writing, โ€œThis is BULL!!!! They are the absolute worst.โ€ With others calling the whole thing ‘insensitive’

Muskโ€™s appearance with his four-year-old son at the White House coincided with the announcement of a DOGE-centric executive order aimed at addressing Washington, D.C. bureaucrats.

Xโ€™s mother, Canadian musician Grimes, 36, whose real name is Claire Boucher, was reportedly unhappy upon discovering that her son had attended the event on Tuesday.
