Who is Carrie Underwood’s handsome husband Mike Fisher: Inside their love story and his NHL glory

They’ve been married nearly 15 years, but Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher are still giving us serious couple goals — from red carpet glam to laugh-out-loud parody videos.

The country music queen and former NHL star first met in 2008 after being set up by a friend. Carrie had doubts at first, but after one meeting? Total chemistry.

“With him, it was like a good partnership. It was an easy relationship to be in,” she later told PEOPLE.

They said “I do” in 2010 at a luxe resort in Georgia and now share two sons — Isaiah and Jacob — all while juggling life on the road, parenting, and plenty of spotlight moments.

From Hockey Legend to Hall of Fame

Before becoming Carrie’s ultimate hype man, Fisher was a beast on the ice.

He was drafted at just 19 years old by the Ottawa Senators, then captained the Nashville Predators and led them to the Stanley Cup finals in 2017. Though he briefly retired, he made a surprise comeback in 2018 — and yes, Carrie encouraged it.

“She wanted me to do it. And she’s usually right,” Fisher told ESPN.

In 2023, he was inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame, with Carrie cheering him on:

“Congratulations, babe! So proud of you!!!”

The Viral Parody That Broke the Internet

Turns out, Fisher has a sense of humor to match his grit. In one of Catchin’ Deers’ most-watched YouTube videos, he spoofed Carrie’s hit “Before He Cheats” with a hilarious hunting-themed version:
“Before She Bleats.”

Fans loved seeing Fisher channel his wife’s vibe — just with a few more deer calls and camo gear.

Through Highs, Lows, and Miscarriages

The couple has also been candid about their personal struggles. Carrie suffered multiple miscarriages before welcoming their second son, Jacob, in 2019 — whom she calls their “little miracle.”

Their 2020 docuseries Mike and Carrie: God & Country revealed just how central faith and family are to their lives. Fisher called being a dad the “greatest thing ever” and said his biggest hope for their kids is a strong relationship with God.

Still a Power Couple in 2025

Whether it’s Carrie winning Grammys or Mike supporting her at the 2025 Presidential Inauguration, where she sang “America the Beautiful,” the two continue to show up for each other — every step of the way.

In March 2025, they stunned fans at the Opry 100 red carpet, their first joint appearance in two years — and yes, still as in love as ever.
