The historic point guard has two more seasons left on his contract with Golden State, so he does not rule out changing teams afterward or even before via trade.
Stephen Curry has been the face of the Golden State Warriors, leading them to four NBA championships since 2015 and establishing the team as the latest great dynasty in this prestigious North American competition.
Despite representing the Bay Area franchise for 15 years, with a strong chance of extending that to at least 17, the two-time regular season MVP remains non-committal about his future in sports.
“I will continue to make the best decisions for myself and my career at the end of the day. I want to win,” Curry told the press covering the U.S. national team’s training camp for the Paris Olympics.
With these words, the four-time NBA champion and Finals MVP as the Warriors’ star point guard reaffirmed what he said earlier in July. While he didn’t deny wanting to retire as a member of the San Francisco team, he understands the business aspect of basketball for all parties involved.
Additionally, at 36 years old, Curry hinted that he might try to compete at an elite level until around age 40. His current contract ends in 2026, so he doesn’t rule out seeking a new path in two summers or even accepting a trade during the 2025-2026 season.
