Hollywood actress, 95, was found dead in her Los Angeles home after it was destroyed by the wildfires.

Renowned Hollywood icon Dalyce Curry has tragically been found dead in her Los Angeles home after falling victim to the devastating wildfires that have ravaged the county.

The 95-year-old actress, who had retired from acting but is remembered for her unforgettable roles in The Blues Brothers (1980), The Ten Commandments (1956), and Lady Sings the Blues (1972), was discovered in her Altadena residence, located in northeast Los Angeles, at approximately 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Curry had been reported missing earlier when her family was unable to locate her at an evacuation center. The last known sighting of the celebrated actress was on Tuesday, coinciding with the initial spread of the Eaton Fire.

In a heartbreaking Facebook post on Sunday evening, Curry’s granddaughter, Dalyce Kelley, confirmed that the grim search had concluded with the discovery of her grandmotherโ€™s body within her home. The loss has left her family, fans, and the entertainment industry in mourning.

โ€œWith a heavy heart, I share that our search for Momma D has come to an end, as her remains were found in her home,โ€ Kelley wrote in a heartfelt Facebook post. She expressed the profound grief her family is experiencing, saying, โ€œWe are devastated, and itโ€™s difficult to comprehend how her life came to this end.โ€

What happened with Dalyce Curry

Kelley recounted the last time she saw her grandmother on Tuesday at midnight, when she dropped her off at her Altadena residence. Despite noticing the fire burning in the mountains, Kelley left to care for her sibling battling cancer, unaware of the looming danger.

The next morning, Kelley was alarmed by a text alert about a power outage at her grandmotherโ€™s home. Rushing back to check on her, she was met with the devastating news from an officer: the property had been completely consumed by the fire. Kelley was directed to the Pasadena Civic Center, where evacuees had been relocated, but there was no sign of Dalyce.

For the next five days, Kelley and her family clung to hope as officers continued their search. Sadly, those hopes were shattered when authorities discovered Curryโ€™s remains in the charred remains of her home.
