Tina Knowles, Beyoncé’s mom hits back at ‘NFL Half-time show’ critics: ‘You look like a joke’

Tina Knowles is standing up against critics of her daughter Beyoncé’s recent halftime performance, which made waves on Christmas Day.

The pop superstar took center stage at the Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens game, dazzling the crowd with her performance that streamed on Netflix. Beyoncé rocked sparkling white Western attire to perform a live rendition of “Texas Hold ‘Em” from her latest album, Cowboy Carter.

The performance featured special appearances by Shaboozey and Post Malone, and a show-stealing moment from Beyoncé’s 12-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, who joined her mother on stage with captivating dance moves. While the show was widely celebrated, some critics took issue with the setlist, claiming it leaned too heavily on cover songs and lacked a Christmas theme.

What did Tina say?

Tina Knowles didn’t hold back in addressing the backlash. Sharing a fan post by @iamkrisiman, Knowles highlighted the comment: “No matter how undeniably talented you are, people will always, ALWAYS, always have some negative ish to say,” fully endorsing the sentiment in defense of her daughter.

It is mind-boggling to me that you would take your precious Christmas day and watch a performance of someone you hate and don’t think has talent, just so you can talk trash about it later,” Knowles wrote.

Obviously, you’re so obsessed, addicted, and secretly admire them—maybe even wish you could be them—that you can’t help but watch, critique, and say ridiculous things that make you look like a joke.”

She continued with a sharp suggestion for detractors: “Go to another channel during halftime. Watch goofy cartoons or Bozo the Clown—something you can relate to and see yourself in. Said with love.

Adding a heartfelt note, Knowles shared her admiration for Beyoncé’s resilience, saying, “PS: I have learned so much from [Beyoncé’s] warrior spirit. When they go low, I work harder.”
