Juventus could make another attempt to sign Domenico Berardi during the January transfer window, aiming for a payment structure similar to previous deals.
It’s widely known that Juventus tried to bring Berardi during the summer, but their failure to reach an early agreement led to Sassuolo rejecting the move.
According to Tuttosport, Juventus will make a renewed effort in January. They want the player in a loan deal with an obligation to buy, a structure Sasuolo have accepted in the past, notably with Manuel Locatelli. This approach allows Juventus to spread the transfer fee over multiple years and acquire the player immediately.
Sassuolo’s asking price for Berardi is set at a minimum of โฌ30 million, given his role as the team’s captain and his contract, which runs until June 2027.
It’s worth noting that Berardi, a 29-year-old Italian international, was previously co-owned by Juventus from 2013 to 2015 when such arrangements were still allowed, although he never actually played for the Bianconeri.
