Another clean sheet for the Swiss goalkeeper, who has started his experience at Inter in the best possible way.
The Inter’s march continues smoothly: first place in the league, the best attack, and the best defense in Serie A, with 10 clean sheets in the first 15 matches. Credit for this solidity goes, in part, to Yann Sommer: the Swiss goalkeeper, who arrived in Milan this summer from Bayern Munich for only โฌ6m, is proving his worth it between the posts. His personality and the great performances quickly made fans forget Andrรฉ Onana who got sold to Manchester United this summer for โฌ55m.
The start of his Inter adventure couldn’t have been better: Sommer has achieved an impressive 12 clean sheets in his first 19 appearances wearing the Nerazzurri shirt. This is a remarkable feat, and it becomes even more significant in Serie A history.
Since the introduction of the three-point system for a win in the 1994/95 season, no one had managed to keep their goal untouched in at least 10 of their first 15 league matches (Opta data).
