The future seems away from Miami. Jimmy Butler is on the move. He has two great offers

Philly sets sights on Jimmy Butler, but they are not alone as another team from the west is preparing a nice package for a trade

The 2024 NBA season saw the Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat finish seventh and eighth in the Eastern Conference, respectively. Both teams faced first-round playoff exits, with the 76ers losing to the New York Knicks and the Heat falling to the Boston Celtics, who are now in the NBA Finals.

Looking ahead, the 76ers aim to make big moves in the offseason. They are reportedly prepared to offer Jimmy Butler a max extension to bring him back to Philadelphia. Additionally, they are targeting superstar Paul George. If the pursuit of George doesn’t succeed, Butler could be wearing a 76ers jersey next season.

Miami Heat president Pat Riley initially showed no interest in trading Jimmy Butler. However, he has recently suggested a change in stance, indicating that “a lot of things are on the table.” Riley highlighted the challenge of balancing the acquisition of another star player while ensuring the team retains a strong bench.

76ers not the only possibility for Jimmy Butler

According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, the Golden State Warriors are likely to show interest in trading for Jimmy Butler if he becomes available with Klay Thompson as a trading piece. Butler is seeking a two-year extension this offseason, but the Miami Heat are reportedly hesitant to offer it.

On the other hand, Brandon Ingram is not on the Warriors’ radar for potential trades. Despite speculation that the New Orleans Pelicans might consider trading Ingram to balance their roster and manage their salary cap, the Warriors are not expected to pursue him.

Jimmy now has 3 real options, stay with the Heat, but he doesn’t have the same status anymore after the recent Pat Riley comments. He could move back to Philly and stay in the eastern conference, adding pressure on Boston. Jimmy Butler, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey make a very good trio. The last possibilty is to join Steph and Draymond in San Francisco.

The player remains open to all the possibilites and only time will tell his destination for the next season 2024/25
