The Day Michael Jordan made a bet that left former NGL star Jeremy Roenick speechless

Former NHL star Jeremy Roenick shared a story about the legendary Michael Jordan.

Back in the ’90s, when the Chicago Bulls were dominating the NBA, Jordan called Roenick with an unexpected invitation. “Meet me at Sunset Ridge, earlyโ€”we are gonna play 18 holes,” he said.

It was the end of the season for both Roenick and the Bulls, so they hit the golf course.

They played 18 holes, and Roenick walked away with a couple of thousand dollars from Jordan.

Thinking their day was overโ€”especially since the Bulls had a game against Cleveland that nightโ€”Roenick prepared to leave.

Jordan had other plans

“No, let’s play again,” he said. They filled a bag with ice and drinks, then played another 18 holes, spending the entire afternoon golfing and drinking.

After 36 holes and several Bud Lights, Jordan was still unfazed. Heading straight to the stadium for his game, he left Roenick in disbelief.

Still stunned, Roenick joked, “I’m gonna call my bookie and put all the money you just lost to me on Cleveland tonight.”

Jordan, unfazed, fired back with a bold bet: “I’ll bet you we win by 20, and I score more than 40.”

“Without hesitation, Roenick said, ‘Done.'”

That night, after a full day of golf and drinks, Jordan delivered an incredible performanceโ€”dropping 52 points and leading the Bulls to a 26-point victory.

For Roenick, this was just another reminder of MJโ€™s greatness.

“The man, Michael Jordan, to me, is probably the best I’ve ever seen, that I’ve ever been around and watched play. The way he presented himself and played the gameโ€”just amazing,” he said.
