Tamron Hall found love after 40 — Meet the man by her side who gives her ‘deepest, greatest romance’

Tamron Hall has never lived her life by anyone else’s timeline. From breaking glass ceilings in broadcast news to becoming a mom at 48, the Emmy-winning journalist has carved out a path that’s uniquely hers. And now, six years into marriage with music executive Steven Greener, she’s still writing her own love story.

It’s a relationship built on quiet commitment, real support, and something Tamron rarely had in the past: peace.

A surprise romance with staying power

Fans may remember the buzz back in 2012 when Hall was linked to fellow MSNBC star Lawrence O’Donnell. The pair were spotted at chic New York dinners and Broadway nights, and while neither ever confirmed the relationship publicly, reports at the time suggested they dated for about a year.

But true love didn’t arrive until years later and not from a newsroom.

Hall revealed in 2019 that she’d quietly married Steven Greener, a seasoned industry executive known for managing music legends like Brandy, Fantasia, and CeeLo Green. The two had known each other for years before their relationship turned romantic in 2017. According to Tamron, their connection was different from the start.

“Steven was my first and only boyfriend who did not have to turn on the TV to see me,” she told People. “And I think that’s been important.”

From heartbreak to healing

Tamron’s story isn’t all glitz. In 2004, she tragically lost her sister Renate to an act of domestic violence — a crime that remains unsolved. That grief shaped her advocacy work, including her partnership with the Purina’s Purple Leash Project, which supports domestic violence survivors and their pets.

Through pain, she found purpose. And with Greener, she found a love rooted in privacy and protection, not secrecy.

Hall says their privacy is intentional and distinct from secrecy, chosen to protect their bond.

Motherhood at 48 — and a life on her own terms

In 2019, Tamron gave birth to their son Moses via IVF. It was a journey she kept private until she was 32 weeks along.

“I’ve wanted to share this news for many months… and now finally my doctor has said I am in a safe place,” she told fans at the time.

Becoming a mom at 48 wasn’t part of anyone else’s plan, but it was hers. And now, Moses is a joyful part of her world, often popping up in cooking clips and funny stories she shares from their Harlem home.

Tamron is also open about the support system she leans on, including her live-in nanny.

“It’s impossible to do it without her; my nearest family members are 2,000 miles away… I wasn’t going to pretend and I also felt that [to do so] was diminishing this great woman who chose a career to care for my son when I’m not able to be there.”

A love story still going strong

Steven Greener may not crave the spotlight, but his presence in Tamron’s life has been transformative. As a partner at Primary Wave, he works behind the scenes with music icons. Yet at home, he’s the steady hand helping Tamron navigate career wins, parenting joys, and life’s deeper questions.

She’s called Greener her “deepest, greatest love.”

Now 54, Tamron Hall is living proof that success, healing, motherhood, and yes, true love, don’t have to happen on anyone’s timeline but your own. And for anyone wondering if it’s too late to find “the one,” Tamron’s life says it best: the best chapters sometimes come later.
