On Tuesday, Tammy Slaton shared the ongoing progress of her weight loss journey with her fans. The 37-year-old star of “1000-Lb. Sisters,” who underwent bariatric surgery in late 2022, revealed her transformation through a series of photos on Instagram.
The photo collection showcased Tammy in various outfits, including a strapless gown, pajamas, and a sweatshirt while spending time with her cat, illustrating her remarkable weight loss journey.
Her followers, including her surgeon Dr. Eric Smith, praised her progress. Dr. Smith commented on one of Tammy’s posts featuring her and her cat Chocolate, saying, ‘You are killing it!’
This update follows Tammy’s announcement in December that she had reached 285 pounds, a significant reduction from her starting weight of 717 pounds. Her weight loss journey took place over 14 months at the Windsor Lane Rehabilitation Center in Gibsonburg, Ohio, where she lost over 400 pounds through treatment and bariatric surgery.
During her time at the rehab center, Tammy met her late husband Caleb Willingham, nicknamed ‘Double K.’ Caleb appeared on the weight loss show alongside Tammy as they battled chronic obesity. Their wedding, attended by approximately 30 friends and family members, was officiated by their home care nurse and friend, Billy.
Tragically, just months after their marriage, Caleb passed away at the age of 40 due to unknown causes. Tammy shared the heartbreaking moment she learned of Caleb’s passing during an interview with People. She received a text message from Caleb’s friend informing her that he wasn’t doing well, followed by another message just 20 minutes later revealing his passing. Tammy was at home in Kentucky while Caleb was at the Ohio rehab facility where they had spent time together.
Despite the immense loss, Tammy mentioned that she has been coping relatively well with the tragedy. She even created a ring and a musical note-shaped necklace using Caleb’s ashes, finding solace in having a tangible piece of him close to her.
The jewelry has become a source of comfort for Tammy, reminding her that a part of Caleb will always be with her.
