In a recent interview, Martin shared that having a successful TV show at this stage in his career was unexpected. Prior to “Only Murders,” Martin and Short were content touring with their joint live comedy show, which they still enjoy performing.
“We were very happy just doing the live show,” Martin told The Hollywood Reporter. He acknowledged that their live performances might naturally come to an end due to health or other reasons, but emphasized that he wouldnโt continue the show without Short.
Looking ahead, Martin revealed that he has no plans to pursue other on-screen roles once “Only Murders” concludes. “When this television show is done, Iโm not going to seek others. This is, weirdly, it.” Martin’s candid remarks highlight his intention to step back from acting and cherish the current chapter of his illustrious career.
This surprising revelation marks a significant moment for fans, as Martin hints at winding down his time in the spotlight after decades of memorable performances.
