She has a big heart: Beyoncé donates $2.5 million to California wildfire relief efforts

Beyoncé has stepped up to support those affected by the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles through a significant donation from her charity.

On Sunday, her BeyGood foundation announced a pledge of $2.5 million to assist families impacted by the devastation. The funds will be directed to BeyGood’s L.A. Fire Relief Fund, a program established specifically to provide relief amid the crisis caused by the wildfires.

This generous contribution highlights Beyoncé’s continued commitment to aiding communities in times of need.

Los Angeles, we stand with you,” the BeyGood foundation declared in an Instagram post. The announcement emphasized that the relief fund would focus on supporting families in the Altadena and Pasadena areas who lost their homes. Additionally, funds will be directed to local churches and community centers to meet the urgent needs of wildfire victims.

The wildfires, which erupted on January 7 following a period of strong winds, have spread rapidly across Los Angeles, leaving widespread devastation.

As of Sunday, officials reported at least 24 fatalities and thousands of destroyed structures. Amid the tragedy, numerous Hollywood stars have joined Beyoncé in showing their support for the affected communities.

Beyoncé’s family has also been impacted by this tragedy

Beyoncé’s family has also felt the devastating effects of the Los Angeles wildfires. On Friday, her mother, Tina Knowles, shared that her Malibu bungalow had been destroyed in the blaze.

Taking to Instagram, Tina wrote, “This is what I was looking at on my birthday this past weekend from my tiny little bungalow on the water in Malibu! It was my favorite place, my sanctuary, my sacred Happy Place. Now it is gone!!”

She went on to express her gratitude for the firefighters and disaster workers who bravely risked their lives to combat the flames. “This could have been so much worse without the dedication of the disaster workers and first responders. I’m so sad for the people who lost the five family members. My deepest prayers are with you!”

Addressing those who lost their homes and belongings, she added, “To the people who lost their homes and belongings, I can only imagine how it feels to lose properties and everything you worked so hard and sacrificed so much to own! My heart and deep prayers go out to all of you.”
