Between sale and refinancing: the Nerazzurri club is valued higher than Milan.
According to Tuttosport, the puzzle is slowly starting to come together. There are rumors, leaks, and increasingly significant confirmations about the offer delivered to Suning by the investment bank Raine Group in the second half of August.
The offer comes from a fund from Middle East, region linked to the Saudis: a clue that leads to Investcorp, a fund that belongs to Bahrain but raises a significant amount of capital from neighboring Arabia.
In recent months, the fund has been repeatedly associated with the Nerazzurri club. However, these are still hypotheses. The certainties lie in the club’s estimated value of the club.
From what has been leaked, the amount – including bonuses – for the club’s valuation would be €1.3 billion, more than what RedBird paid for AC Milan. This would be a point of pride for Steven Zhang.
This high valuation comes thanks to the previous successful seasons and the recent Champions League final. But reports from China say that Suning can change its course, and try to keep the club.
This theory is also supported by the relationship between Suning and Oaktree (The fund that Suning is owing big money to), it is noted, is very deep and goes beyond the loan granted to Inter.
One thing that is for sure, Zhang wants to take his time to make a final decision. This change of heart is also motivated by the team’s good results and achievements in these years without any direct investments from China:
For Suning, bidding farewell after winning the second star would be an extraordinary achievement. This could lead to either selling the club at the end of the season or not selling it at all (thanks again to the excellent relationship with Oaktree).
Meanwhile, yesterday, the Mayor of Milano Beppe Sala made a comment on the subject: ” We are following with great interest with what could happen around Inter in the coming months, considering that we have not yet given up on the idea that at least one team could remain in a renovated San Siro.
If they can not invest then they should sell. We can not keep seeling our best players each year!
