The Lazio coach is clear: “Immobile is an infinite resource; if he’s in good shape. I want to finish my career here at Lazio.”
“I want to end my career at Lazio.” On the eve of the Champions League clash against Feyenoord at the Olimpico, Maurizio Sarri addresses the criticism following the Bologna defeat makes these statements:
“I’ve heard rumors that I want to leave. If rumors matter more than my words, it’s a bit frustrating. I’ve always said the opposite, I actually want to end my career here at Lazio.” added the Tuscan coach during the press conference. “Feyenoord? We always aim to win and want to dominate the game. Against Bologna, for 75 minutes, we played a great game, but we couldn’t convert our hard work. Our forwards last year at this point had scored a total of 16 goals, this year we’re at 5-6, and that’s what’s missing. I don’t understand why this is happening; we play the same way.“
Sarri, who was defeated in the first leg against Feyenoord, is obliged to secure the 3 points to have a chance at reaching the round of 16: “We are stronger than last year,” he added. “They (Feyenoord) play with great intensity, they have physicallity and stay the edge of tactical fouls. We need to move the ball at a very high speed.
Should I start Kamada? It’s not easy to have both him and Luis Alberto on the field at the same time. If he’s in good shape, the Spaniard plays. Tomorrow, I expect the Olimpico to be a hellish atmosphere.”
Finally, a comment on Ciro Immobile, who is dealing with a tough time getting into the starting lineup after an injury: “We need to make a choice. And he needs to decide, either he needs a break, or he needs some time to recover. I’m in favor of recovering him at all costs because he’s too important for us. He’s an infinite resource for us,” Sarri concluded.
