Ranocchia reveals: ‘In 2014, I was very near Juventus… an Inter legend convinced me otherwise’

Andrea Ranocchia, former footballer, has spoken out about Juventus, revealing a behind-the-scenes story from the transfer market.

Andrea Ranocchia, former player of Inter and Monza, shared his thoughts on a transfer market anecdote which happend to him during the 2013/14 season when he was stil a relevant player for Inter.

Here are his words from the Frog Talks podcast, discussing a negotiation from several years ago involving Juventus: “In 2014, I was about to join Juventus. My contract was expiring, and I didn’t know what would happen.

Talking to some friends, one thing that always stuck with me is what Dejan Stankovic said to me when I asked him for an advice: ‘You can choose whatever you want to do because your career is yours, he said to me, but if you win at Inter, it will remain forever. If you win at Juventus, it’s Juventus that wins.’ It made me thinkโ€ฆ”

The Frog remained with Inter, and the ‘Nerazzurri’ gave him the captaincy, which unfortunately, didn’t go quite as planned for both the club and the player.
