Grant Harrold, a former butler who once served King Charles, has weighed in on the possibility of a holiday olive branch being extended by Kate Middleton to Harry and Meghan. According to Harrold, Christmas provides the perfect opportunity for families to reconcile.
“Christmas is about goodwill, letting bygones be bygones, and embracing the chance to move forward,” Harrold said in a recent interview. “If there’s any time of year when communication could happen, it’s during the holidays. There’s something magical about Christmas that brings families back together.”
Despite Harrold’s optimism, the Sussexes are not expected to join the royal family at Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, the traditional venue for Christmas celebrations. Instead, Harry and Meghan will remain in California with their children, Archie and Lilibet. However, Harrold suggested that efforts to mend the strained relationship might still take place, albeit from a distance.
“I’d like to believe there will be communication—whether that’s through text messages, calls, or FaceTime,” Harrold speculated. “It’s something that will likely remain private, but deep down, I think progress is being made.”
