President Donald Trump is pushing back and pushing forward.
After a quiet Labor Day weekend sparked a flurry of online speculation about his whereabouts, the 79-year-old president reemerged in full force, brushing off false rumors and resuming business as usual from the Oval Office.
“No, I’ve been very active actually,” Trump told reporters at a September 2 press conference. “I didn’t hear that one. That’s pretty serious.”
A quiet weekend — and a very public return
The speculation began when the White House released a blank public schedule for Labor Day weekend. Without planned events, some online users jumped to wild conclusions, including baseless claims about the president’s health.

In reality, Trump was exactly where he wanted to be: spending time with family at his Virginia golf club. He was first seen on August 30, dressed in a sharp white polo, crisp black pants, and his signature MAGA hat, walking alongside his grandchildren, Kai and Spencer Trump.
Trump gave an interview to The Daily Caller that Friday and returned to the public eye with his usual energy, making it clear there was never a cause for concern.
Eric Trump and J.D. Vance back the president’s health and energy
As online rumors gained steam, Eric Trump stepped in with a direct response on X (formerly Twitter), quoting his father’s own words: “Never felt better in my life.”
Vice President J.D. Vance echoed the same sentiment in an earlier USA TODAY interview. “He’s the last person making phone calls at night, and the first person making them in the morning,” Vance said, emphasizing Trump’s high stamina and sharpness.
Vance didn’t shy away from acknowledging the broader question: what if tragedy struck? “The president is in incredibly good health. He’s going to serve out the remainder of his term and do great things for the American people.”
White House addresses health transparency
Following earlier buzz around images of Trump’s hand, which appeared to show a small patch of makeup during a meeting with FIFA President Gianni Infantino, the White House Medical Unit provided clarity.
According to physician Capt. Sean Barbabella, Trump underwent diagnostic vascular studies and a full cardiovascular evaluation. The results? A clean bill of health.
The tests revealed chronic venous insufficiency, a common and benign condition in adults over 70. Lab work, heart function, and systemic screenings all came back normal. “No evidence of heart failure, DVT, or arterial disease,” the report stated.
Press schedule, portraits, and power plays ahead
President Trump used the moment to contrast his recent public appearances with those of his predecessor. “I didn’t do [press conferences] for two days and they said, ‘There must be something wrong.’ Biden wouldn’t do them for months.”
With the White House fully back in motion and plans underway for high-profile international meetings, commemorations, and the unveiling of new White House portraits, Trump is once again at the center of America’s political stage — confident, composed, and very much in control.
And for those wondering about his energy?
Trump said it best: “Never felt better.”
