President Trump mentions Taylor Swift’s absence and credits himself for saying ‘I hate Taylor Swift’

President Donald Trump has reignited his public feud with Taylor Swift, targeting the pop superstar following her endorsement of Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential election.
In a pointed post on Truth Social Friday, Trump wrote:
โHas anyone noticed that, since I said โI HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,โ sheโs no longer โHOT?โโ

The jab appears to stem from Swiftโs September 2024 Instagram post, in which she publicly endorsed then-candidate Kamala Harris following Harris’ strong performance in a televised debate against Trump. Swift wrote at the time:
โIโm voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.โ
Trumpโs History of Clashing with Swift
Trumpโs latest remarks echo a post he made in September 2024, shortly after Swiftโs endorsement, where he simply declared, โI HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!โ His animosity toward the singer also ties to a fake AI-generated image that circulated online, falsely portraying Swift as a Trump supporter. Trump had reposted the image on social media.
When asked about potential legal fallout from sharing the doctored image, Trump told Fox Business he wasnโt concerned, suggesting the images were โmade up by other people.โ
He later commented during a Fox & Friends interview:
โI was not a Taylor Swift fan. Sheโll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.โ
Despite this claim, Swift’s popularity and career have only soared in recent years. According to Forbes, she currently holds a net worth of $1.6 billion, making her the wealthiest female musician in the world. Her Eras Tour, which wrapped in December 2024, broke records as the first concert tour to gross $2 billion globally.
Trump Once Praised Swiftโs Looks, Not Her Politics
Before their political fallout, Trump once offered lukewarm praise for Swift, mostly focused on her appearance.
โI think sheโs beautiful โ very beautiful! I find her very beautiful. I think sheโs liberal. She probably doesnโt like Trump. I hear sheโs very talented,โ he said in an earlier interview.
Swift has never shied away from speaking out on political and social issues in recent years. Her endorsement of Harris marked one of the most high-profile celebrity statements of the 2024 election cycle โ and evidently, one Trump is still stewing over.
