The Rossoneri coach commented on the heavy defeat in Paris: “A significant result, their quality made the difference.”
AC Milan left Paris bruised after a 0-3 defeat to PSG, with Kylian Mbappรฉ leading the way for the Parisians. For the Rossoneri, this means only 2 points won in three matches in the Champions League and 0 goals scored, a situation that looks complicated with regards to advancing to the next round.
Stefano Pioli commented on the match, saying, “The result seems heavy, but the team did what they had to do. From a technical point of view, we should have done better, and PSG made good use of their opportunities. In the first half, we did very well, but in the second half, we were too imprecise. The way we conceded the second goal was just unfortunate.”
“PSG pressed us a lot, and it wasn’t easy to build up play effectively, but we were punished in crucial moments of the match. We needed to do better technically. It’s normal to be concerned after two consecutive losses, but we must raise our level because the group stage is not over yet,” Pioli continued in an interview with Prime Video.
Milan also needs a mental boost to compete against the stronger teams in the Champions League: “For an hour, we delivered a good performance and even played better than PSG, but then we conceded the second goal, and we lost a bit of momentum. We could have turned it around, but it’s disappointing because it was an important game that we interpreted well. I can’t fault the team’s attitude, but they had more quality than us and determined the outcome.”
