Now Napoli is actively pursuing the Udinese midfielder Lazar Samardzic, a longstanding target initially considered as a successor to Zielinski. During the last summer, Inter was close to securing him for €22.5 million, involving €4.5 million for the loan, €16 million for the buyout, and €2 million in bonuses.

The proposed salary for the player was €2 million per season over five years. However, negotiations with Inter encountered complications, paving the way for Napoli to explore a potential deal under similar terms.
