Italy and Turkey will jointly organize the European Football Championship in 2032. Four years earlier, in 2028, it will be the turn of England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and Ireland. The announcement of this decision was made just moments ago by UEFA President Aleksander ฤeferin.
10 CITIES FOR 2032
For the 2032 tournament, the selection of host cities will be made three years from now, in October 2026. At the moment, the most likely scenario is the selection of five Italian and five Turkish cities. However, a change in the tournament format could potentially increase the number of cities involved to six.
Currently, the list includes 10 cities: Rome, Milan, Turin (Stadium), Naples, Genoa, Bari, Bologna, Florence, Verona, and Cagliari, with Palermo as the first alternative. The race is now on to become one of the chosen cities, and it will require certainty in the project and financing process to be selected. In October 2026, the host city for the opening match and the final will also be determined.

In the presentation of the candidacy, Italian Football Federation President Gabriele Gravina spoke about the “ambitious challenge of a joint candidacy (with Turkey) – which finds its most significant motivation in sharing.”

EURO 2028 finals, as previously mentioned, will indeed be held at Wembley Stadium in the United Kingdom but they will host this tournament together with Ireland. The championship will involve ten venues, with an average capacity of 58,000 spectators, starting from Dublin, where the opening match will take place, to Wembley, where the final will be held.”
