Genoa is in talks for the Juventus defender who continues to attract interest from Union Berlin: initial contacts have been made.
For Leonardo Bonucci, this could potentially be a return to Genoa, where he has been briefly in the past, though without ever wearing the red and blue jersey.
Union Berlin and Lazio, but not only them, Genoa is also pushing for Leonardo Bonucci. The 1987-born defender, on the outskirts of the Juventus project, will likely change his shirt before the end of the transfer window.
While he has been in talks with the German club for a possible move to the Bundesliga for weeks – the negotiation has become a bit complicated in recent hours – there have also been contacts with Genoa. It remains to be seen how the situation will develop.
For the second time in Genoa:
It’s worth noting that Bonucci is no longer part of Juventus’ technical plans (he is under contract until 2024) and has been on the market for weeks now.
As mentioned, the negotiation with Union Berlin hasn’t reached a conclusion, as there has been no final agreement betweem all the parties while the Lazio option is also currently on hold as they are favoring other solutions.
Now, Genoa’s interest presents the possibility of a return in a place where he was but never wore the red and blue jersey in his career. Bonucci did join Genoa as part of the deal that brought Milito to Inter in the summer of 2009 but was immediately sent on co-ownership to Bari, which later bought him over before transferring him to Juventus.
