The Azzurri in low spirits and dominated at home by Fiorentina: after the showdown, the coach should remain in charge until the next break, with Antonio Conte closely monitored.
The Napoli, as the official Italian champions we knew, have disappeared. This was the first thought of the Azzurri fans at the Maradona Stadium after the loss to Fiorentina. There is a suspicion in the Neapoli environment: after winning the Scudetto, the dressing room seems to have lost its motivation.
After a meeting between Rudi Garcia and President De Laurentiis, and after some rumors suggested an imminent change in the coaching position, the coach at the moment seems to be confirmed, at least on a temporary basis.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Azzurri owner has decided to postpone any decision until the next break unless there are shocking collapses in the upcoming matches. In that case De Laurentiis would call Antonio Conte to take over.
The past few hours, in fact, have been a time of deep reflection at Napoli, with De Laurentiis himself in action: furious and bewildered in the stadium’s locker room, as revealed by Il Mattino, the president has put Garcia under observation.
The team has collected only 14 points in the standings, a far cry from the previous season when they had 20 points after 8 matches under Spalletti‘s management. That’s a difference of six points. Not to mention the current fifth place, which would mean a spot in the Europa League.
In case the results don’t improve, except Antonio Conte, Napoli is looking at names like Igor Tudor and Christoph Galtier as well.
