The Special One on his future: ‘I have a contract until June 30th, no issues with the club.’
Jose Mourinho is satisfied with the victory over Cagliari but at the same time, he doesn’t hide his deep concern about Paulo Dybala‘s injury. “There’s no optimism; I always trust the players a lot. When he’s not optimistic, neither am I,” he said after the match. “We have to wait for exams tomorrow or the day after, but if Paulo isn’t optimistic, neither am I.”
On the rumors of a possible dismissal: “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I have a contract until June 30th, and I know perfectly well what I want, which is to give everything I can to Roma. The club has no issues with me. I’m here to help the players and the club achieve the results they want because this is our life.”
Today, Roma made the difference, especially in midfield: “We tried to add a bit more solidity. We spent a lot of time analyzing the loss to Genoa. We are not a super-fast and intense team, except for Renato Sanches,” Mourinho added in an interview with Dazn.
On the environment surrounding him, he said, “I work with the players every day and with the entire staff. It’s like a bubble; we travel together, eat together, and everything else. We thought we needed to win these games before the international break.
I live quite isolated, I don’t have much of a social life, so I don’t hear people talking about these things. I don’t think about anyone else. I’m not a child, and I think about what I want for myself. We are there, and we are not far from the positions we want to be. Today was tough, but we showed great team spirit.”
